Wheelers Lane Primary School – Letter from School 2016-12-14

Parents have today received a letter from Wheelers Lane Primary School’s Governors stating that they have unanimously agreed not to trigger the formal consultation.

14th December 2016

Dear Parents and Carers

I am writing to you on behalf of the governors. You will be aware from the letter you received on 22nd November that a group of seven local schools including Wheelers Lane Primary School, are considering the possibility of beginning a formal consultation process, on the formation of a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT). At our school’s governing body meeting on Thursday 8th December, the governing body undertook a lengthy and thorough debate regarding the decision to trigger a formal consultation towards forming a MAT.

It was agreed unanimously, at that meeting, that governors were not yet in a position to make the decision whether to trigger formal consultation. The governing body feels that it is important and prudent to embark on a period of further information gathering and informal consultation with stakeholders, including parents and carers, in order to establish the very best options for our school at this time.

The governing body greatly values the relationship that the school has with parents and carers and would like to thank those of you who have taken the time to make representations and suggestions regarding this important decision.

We are keen to work in partnership with parents, carers and other stakeholders to find the best possible course of action for’our school and we look forward to providing more information regarding how we intend to do this, early in the New Year.

ln the mean time we hope that you all have a very happy Christmas break.
